Traditional Middle Eastern dish - Mujadara in Instant Pot with Tzatziki Sauce Easy one pot dish. Make often. Vary vegetables and add greens too!!!

  • Instant Pot



  • 1 Cup Brown or green lentils
  • 1 Cup Brown basmati rice
  • 2 Onions diced
  • Veggies of your choice diced
  • 1-2 TBS Lebanese 7 Spice blend
  • Water 2 Cups

Lebanese 7 Spice:

  • 1 tablespoon All spice
  • 1 tablespoon ground coriander
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1 ½ teaspoons black pepper
  • 1 ½ teaspoons ground cloves
  • 1 ½ teaspoons cumin
  • 1 ½ teaspoons ground nutmeg


  • 2 Cups plant based yogurt whisked
  • 1 Cup cucumber finely diced
  • 2 tsp fresh dill finely chopped
  • 2 tsp fresh mint finely chopped
  • 1 tsp Lemon juice adjust to taste
  • Salt to taste


  • Make Lebanese 7 Spice blend: Add all powders into a bowl and mix well and store in a glass jar.
  • Soak lentils overnight
  • Next morning soak brown basmati rice for about 2-4 hrs
  • Add lentils, rice, diced veggies to an instant pot
  • Add 2 cups of water
  • Add spices & salt to taste
  • Set IP to high pressure for 4 mins. Natural Release.
  • After pressure releases, transfer to a large mixing bowl and toss to mix thoroughly. Do not use a serving spoon to mix. Do not overmix - it will turn mushy if you overmix.
  • Serve with Tzatziki sauce!


Tzatziki Sauce: Combine all the ingredients. Adjust flavors to your liking.
