Dry Fruit Modak

Notes
No sugar No jaggery Only dry fruits!!!
Rice flour shell:
- 2 cups boiling water
- 2 cups rice flour
- 1/2 cup nuts each of almonds, cashew & pista
- 1 1/2 TBS sesame seed da, roasted
- 1 1/2 TBS poppy seeds, roasted
- 10-12 Large Mejdool Dates
- 1/2 cup raisins
- 1 tsp cardamom, powder
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg, powder
- Bring water to a rolling boil
- Add rice flour
- Mix with the back of a wooden spatula
- It will still look dry and crumbly
- Cover and set aside for 10 mins
- Knead it for 1-2 mins well
- Make into small balls
- Use rice flour to roll into thin round shapes
- Make modak shape by pinching in 6-8 spots
- Fill in dry fruit filling
- Close the top of modaks
- Steam modaks for 10 mins
- Decorate with saffron strands
